The Lillington United Methodist Church (LUMC) Garden Project named Gardening for God is a mission focused on providing fresh produce to those in Harnett County who are in the state of food insecurity.

Our Pillow Case Ministry is a group of dedicated volunteers sew pillowcases and make them available to people in the congregation
who may know of someone in need because of illness, loss, or other concerns.

Community Garden

Lillington Methodist Church supports a food and faith garden mission, Gardening for God, which plants, harvests and delivers vegetables to local food pantries and the Harnett Safe House. This is a volunteer effort with church and local community members joining to plant and nurture the produce to deliver to those who are experiencing food insecurity.

If you like to garden or would like to learn more about vegetable gardening, reach out to Lillington UMC 910 893 4811 and someone will respond. We are always looking for volunteers to share this opportunity to support our local community and enjoy some dirt therapy.

Dedicated volunteers sew pillowcases and make them available to people in the congregation
who may know of someone in need because of illness, loss, or other concerns.  Anyone can take
a pillowcase to give to a family member, friend, colleague or someone they may know. This is
an opportunity to provide love, caring, and understanding, especially for people who are
dealing with challenges.  The pillowcases are blessed by the Pastor before they are gifted and
recipients are reminded God’s grace is always near. These pillowcases have traveled locally, to
many states and overseas.
